A world without breast cancer

RADIOIMMUNOTHERAPY
The body’s immune system is the main warrior against cancer, but occasionally a genetic mutation slips through this defense and becomes a tumor. Every single day, thousands of mutations occur as a consequence of daily living but the body has the ability to recognize and repair that damage before it becomes malignancy. If the immune system does not recognize the mutation as abnormal, the body does not repair the damage and it can start growing out of control. The concept of immunotherapy is stimulating the body to recognize the mutation which became cancer. Once the immune system becomes aware of the cancer it can attack and has a good chance of destroying the cancer. For thousands of years natural therapies were utilized to strengthen the body and prime the immune system (in many cases with mushrooms, which have substances called mucopolysaccharides which stimulate the immune system). We use a variety of techniques to stimulate the immune system naturally, with advanced drugs and radiation therapy to release the tumor proteins into the circulation, allowing the blood cells to identify the tumor. This is a field which is just getting started and there have been some nice responses but also some severe side effects. During your visits with the doctors you can discuss if this is an option for you.

DETOXIFICATION & LIFESTYLE
We live in an increasingly toxic world. Constant hormonal intake from the added estrogen in beef, chicken, fish is a relatively unrecognized source of toxins that predispose to breast cancer. Smoking, heavy alcohol intake, obesity and lack of activity are well recognized causes of breast cancer and are distressingly common in our modern world. The World Health Organization has recently classified processed meats as chemical carcinogens-there is no longer any doubt. This cannot be taken lightly-the science is absolutely clear and the modern farming and animal husbandry practices are a major contributor to many medical conditions in addition to breast cancer.
Awareness of the problem is the first step in taking action to protect yourself and your family. Read labels, demand organic (preferably certified grass fed meats), and do your own research about biodynamic and regenerative farming. Consider becoming vegetarian every other day. Many people taking action individually becomes a great cause that will benefit the world.

WHAT ARE CLINICAL TRIALS
What exactly is a clinical trial? A clinical trial is an experiment to collect data about the side effects and possible benefits of a new substance or technology for treatment of a medical condition. Another way of describing a clinical trial is human experimentation. Thousands of compounds are tested in a test tube or on laboratory mice and of those thousands, some dozens are presented to the FDA as potential human therapy. Once approved by the FDA for further study, human testing begins and is generally done in 4 phases. A Phase 1 clinical trial looks only at the bad effects of the substance and attempts to identify the maximum dose that is tolerable by an average person. A Phase 2 clinical trial looks at the potential benefit of the substance. A Phase 3 clinical trial is a direct test of the new substance against one of the standard therapies. A Phase 4 clinical trial is a large scale trial to determine if the results of the prior trials stands up once it is used on a large scale. Often, new therapies are taken off the market once a bad side effect becomes identified during this phase. 20 years ago, the patient was paid a considerable sum of money to participate in a clinical trial. Today, with clever marketing and selling hope that this experimental substance might “cure” the tumor, patients are lining up to participate and the Physicians who run those trials are pocketing the funding. It has become a multi billion dollar industry.
